Sit back for a minute and think of all the websites you visit on a daily basis.
That includes the ones you check for news, the ones you check for entertainment, and the ones you check for…. well, the rest is your business. But I’d be willing to bet my adorable pom-chi Roxie and $1500 that at least one of those sites is a blog. They started out as weblogs – online journals where anyone with a pinch of angst and unrequited / unresolved feelings could vent in a public (but still, semi private) space.
But they’ve evolved into a monster of sorts – a reputation-ruining, career building phenomenon that’s turned mormon housewives into faux celebrities and amateur style stars into tastemakers.
Chances are, you fall into one of three categories of bloggers:
1. I know all about blogs and read them, but why would anyone want to read what I have to say?
2. Blogging? Hah, my blog hasn’t seen a new post in months
3. I’m so ahead of the game that I’ve got posts scheduled into January!
Whichever category you fall into, there’s always room for improvement.

The best read blog posts are informative and educational and easy to read. Think of the last great post you read. It wasn’t too long or short, had a cool story line woven throughout, taught you something new and was something you wanted to share with your friends.
Try these resources for great post writing.
The most important thing I tell clients when blogging is this: don’t get caught in the trap of trying to be groundbreaking with every single post.

After all, your charming post of how your cat got its tail stuck in a mousetrap could be all it takes for your blog post to go viral…
