Summer is here & it's the perfect time to step up your Social Media game! Although there are a lot of factors that go into revamping your brand, there are easy ways to polish your online presence. Here are some quick fixes & tricks to get you started.
Create a posting schedule & stick to it! Writing posts in advance will save you time, as well as insure that the work is done & ready to go! Whether it's a weekly or monthly plan of action, do what's right for your business. Mark down dates for running ads, blog deadlines & must-have post details. Pick a day where you have a better chance to get into a writing flow. To get started, try writing five posts on five different aspects of your business. This will not only give you solid posts, but will also show you that you have plenty of information to offer your clients.
Update your cover & header photos. Has it been a while since you've updated your Facebook cover photo? Is your current photo clear on both desktop & mobile? Is your logo prominent on either your cover or your profile picture? If you've said no to at least one of these questions, it's time to get to work! Upload a high resolution photo, preferably landscape, for your cover photo. If you have a logo with a transparent background, place the logo in a prominent place on your cover. You may want to use your logo as your profile picture if it makes more sense to do so. Also, take the time to evaluate the effectiveness of your logo. If you don't have a logo, it's time to design one!
Invest in a professional headshot for your website & LinkedIn page. If establishing yourself as an expert is important to your business or if you are the face of a company, a professional headshot is a must. This investment takes you a long way! The right headshot can be used on your About page, blog posts & applicable social media platforms. As you will see on my Instagram page, my headshot is used for my profile picture. People that know me or my business will know it's not a random company following them. It also adds a personal, authentic touch for individual business owners. If you can, find a photographer that specializes in headshot photography.

Research popular hashtags in your field of work for your posts. Great posts are only effective if the right people see them. Google has a plethora of hashtag generators & popular hashtag search tools. See what similar businesses like yours use for their hashtags. Follow hashtag streams on Instagram to keep up with the ones you use. This will give you a knowledgable idea of what's trending.
Remove outdated photos. Make sure that you're not having a #TBT on your pages everyday. If you've recently renovated a certain part of your business or the pictures on your page are undeniably outdated, clean it all up! If you're sentimental about the photos, create an Archive album on Facebook for storage. The last thing you want to do is confuse your clients with pictures that are no longer relevant to your business.
